About Your Family Support Nurse
Hi, there! I'm Ash (she/her) and I'm so glad you're here!
As a Registered Nurse and Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) I am committed to providing personalized care to support you and your family's needs.

My mission is to empower and equip individuals to thrive through challenging life transitions.
Whether your family is new, growing, or established, I appreciate that some families go through a lot to get where they're going...and some may not have the "Village" they need around them to thrive. This can be most apparent when you've hit an unexpected bump in the road along the way...and that's where I come in!
How can I help you?
These five simple words can hold a lot of meaning.

I believe that helping others is what I do best. I appreciate that all families are unique, and I strive to create a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment for yours.

Personal and Professional Experience
With over a decade of nursing experience in critical care, family practice, professional practice and education, and patient care coordination. Ash has a depth and breadth of understanding when it comes to navigating the Ontario healthcare system. She has given over a thousand injections as a flu shot nurse (and infertility patient), treated just as many wounds in one of the nation's largest intensive care units, and consoled hundreds of families at the bedside of loved ones trying to make sense of it all. Ash gratefully breastfed two children and has helped countless families to feed their babies the way they want to as both an accredited La Leche League Canada Leader and an IBCLC. Ash has always been an avid volunteer, giving back through healthcare and community organizations since the age of 7. Ash has also volunteered with Perinatal Wellbeing Ontario and is currently a member of the York Region Infant Feeding Coalition. She cares deeply about people and their experiences and feels that compassion and empathy are lacking in many healthcare settings. The ever-mounting pressures on the system are often cited as the cause, however this shouldn't be an excuse for subpar care. Ash believes that she can help close the gap between what clinicians know and what their clients understand. Ash is a Certified Healthcare Executive with a Masters in Health Administration and has demonstrated success optimizing care delivery, clinic performance, and improving patient outcomes. She has specialized in resource matching in primary and acute care settings, allowing her to optimize service delivery for care providers and to link clients to ideal services available in the community. If you want to know more about her professional credentials, check her out on LinkedIn or ask us for a reference or resume.
